Sorrenia appoints new Commanding General

LEVARIA — Llewelyn Lawton, the Sorrenian Federation’s current minister for social affairs, has been sworn in as the new commanding officer of the micronation’s Revolutionary Army during a special radio broadcast.

The December 27 ceremony, carried on Sorrenia Radio 1, marked a communications milestone for the micronation, which had never before broadcast a swearing-in of government office.

The appointment represents a promotion for Lawton, who previously held the rank of Lieutenant within the army’s Sorrenian Recon Force unit. As Commanding General, Lawton now holds one of the four most senior positions within the Sorrenian government and will be responsible for the further development of the army. He retains his position as Social Affairs Minister in addition to the new appointment.

In a brief statement to Sorrenia Radio 1, Lawton provided some tentative thoughts on how he will focus his command, noting that he wishes to develop both uniforms and a system of honours for the army. He also expects to conduct various expeditions, including joint missions with allied militaries.
