Enterprising to create a micronation

MICROWIKI — A newcomer to the MicroWiki Community forums has outlined his plan to use the proceeds from the creation of a personal business to fund his soon-to-be-established micronation.

While the concept of using one’s own funds to prop up a micronational project is commonplace, the scope of the plan by the entrepreneur, known by his forum handle as ‘Darwin’s Finch’, shows notable ambition. According to Finch, he will be establishing a venture by raising $1.9 million through two private offerings, with part of his profit from the offerings being paid to a yet-to-be-founded micronation.

That micronation, when established, will act as a “fun” basis for a non-profit entity that will undertake scientific research using the proceeds it generates. “I want to build something that has real world impact. That requires real world resources and so must tie into the global economy,” he said.
